Howdy guys!

Potential dentistry student here and have heard that dentistry is a stressful degree. Bit worried that I won’t be able to cope with the demands of the degree. To current dentistry students, what’s the dentistry workload like? Is it stressful? How do you cope with the stress?

Cheers!

Hey Glove, I’m only in first year but it’s still pretty hectic. I’ve got a few credits though from a previous degree so that eases things a bit but if you’re straight out of school, it’s probably going to be long days for 5 days, similar to what you’re already doing at school I guess!

Just remember not to fall behind and stay on top of everything and you should be fine!

Not that I am a dentistry student myself, but my friends in dental school describe it as very intense and fast-paced. The expectation seems to be 5 days a week 8-5. Despite this much, they keep saying how they don’t really have to study much post-uni. I think that keeps them going and seems to be a massive bonus.

Another 2nd yr dental student but from NZ. I would say that the 5 days with roughly 8-5 days is true. It’s a mix of stuff though, with labs, simulation clinic, lectures, tutorials etc. I would say that its full-on and stressful but I think its VERY manageable if you keep your expectations in check. If you still have the mentality from first yr/ high school of being the best and getting the top marks etc then your gonna work yourself into the ground. Dentistry is about accepting that it’s no longer about being the top student but a proficient health professional and focusing on doing the best you can and learning as much as you can so you can be competent. At the end of the day everyone leaves with the same degree and your grades in Dent school will not correlate to how well you do out in the workforce.

To study dentistry is a good fun although you have fair a bit work load every day, such as lectures, labs, simulations, tutorials, group discussion, etc. However, the requirement for the level of dexterity is something you need to think about because dentistry belongs to surgery rather than medicine.

For me, 1st year dentistry was really chilled – we did very little work in the first semester, except for the weeks leading up to exams. Second semester was a little more full on, but even then it still left me with a lot of time to enjoy my own leisure time and spend time with friends. Not a crazy amount of work needed to be put in to get HD/D’s, but definitely some effort was needed.

First and second year dentistry at my uni (La Trobe) is really chilled, we have around 15 contact hours but if you skip lectures and only go to compulsory classes it ends up only being 1-2 days that.

A career in dentistry is an excellent choice. The 2023 U.S. News & World Report rankings of the “100 Best Jobs” placed dentistry in the top 10 of all career options, and had two dental specialties (oral and maxillofacial surgeon and orthodontist) ranked in the top 25. In addition to the inherent satisfaction of helping patients improve their oral health, average salaries for these dental professions are high, ranging from $150,000 to $210,000.

In this guide, we’ll discuss how to become a dentist and provide you with recommendations for how to get started so you can maximize your chances of pursuing your dream dental career. Becoming a dentist requires a significant investment in your education. The vast majority of dental schools require a bachelor’s degree to apply, with only a couple of schools offering accelerated admissions after just two or three years of undergraduate studies. Of the 72 currently-accredited dental schools in the United States, all are four-year programs with the exception of the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry, a three-year program in San Francisco.

Like medical school admissions, dental schools don’t require a specific major. However, you will need to complete dental school requirements, which include certain courses (primarily in the sciences), a Dental Admissions Test (DAT) score, letters of recommendation, a dental school personal statement, and relevant extracurriculars.

Upon completion of dental school, a student will receive either a DDS or DMD. These degrees are in all aspects equivalent, having the same accreditation body and curriculum requirements. A quick history lesson explains the difference between the two. The first dental school in the United States was the Baltimore College of Medicine founded in 1840, which began granting the DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Harvard founded a dental school shortly thereafter. Because all of their degrees are in Latin they chose to grant a DMD (Doctor Medicinae Dentariae or Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree. Since then, universities choose which degree to grant, with two thirds currently offering the DDS.

Looking for unique dental school personal statement examples to accelerate your writing? Becoming a dentist is challenging in a number of ways, including the years of schooling required, the financial cost of education and setting up a dental practice, and the competitive dental school application process. Because dental school acceptance rates currently hover around 55 percent nationally—in other words, 45 percent of applicants each year don’t end up enrolling anywhere—to gain admission to dental school, you’ll need to demonstrate a strong academic performance.

In recent years, the average college GPA and DAT score for successful dental school applicants have stayed steady at approximately 3.5 and 20, respectively, with the most prestigious schools boasting much higher numbers. (Further reading: How Hard Is It to Get Into Dental School?)

Can you become a dentist in 2 years?

How long does it take to become a dentist? The answer seems simple: you’ll need about eight years of education after high school to become a licensed dentist. Those eight years include four years earning your bachelor’s degree and another four attending dental school. But it’s not always quite so simple. If you’re considering complex specialties, like orthodontics, periodontics, or a doctor of dental surgery, your journey may extend several years further.

This article will guide you through each step of the process, from undergraduate studies to potential postdoctoral specializations, to help you map out the time commitment you’ll need to pursue a rewarding career in dentistry. Choosing dentistry as your career path requires a significant personal and professional investment. It’s a journey that can take up to eight years or more, but the result — a fulfilling career in a respected field — is a worthy goal. Are you ready to discover what it takes to become a dentist?

Undergraduate education, dental school, dental exams, and an optional dental residency are the critical milestones on the path ahead of you. Each phase of this process is essential for a successful dental career, providing opportunities to learn, grow, and develop the vital skills you’ll use daily as a dental professional.

So, let’s explore each of these steps in more detail.

Your first step toward your dental career is earning a bachelor’s degree from a reputable four-year program. Some colleges and universities may offer a recommended pre-dental program but don’t worry if yours doesn’t. You won’t need any specific major for admission to dental schools. Still, most students will want to choose a science major to set the groundwork for their upcoming dentistry school experience.

Biology, physics, and organic chemistry are prerequisite courses for most dental schools because they arm you with vital knowledge for understanding the intricate systems and structures of the human body. Many dental schools require specific coursework, so review the educational requirements of your preferred dental programs sooner rather than later. You don’t want to arrive at the application process only to find you’re missing a course you needed to gain acceptance.

Toward the end of your undergraduate school, you’ll need to take a dental admissions test and apply to various dental schools. The Dental Admission Test (DAT) is a significant step in your journey towards becoming a dentist. This standardized test measures your general academic ability, comprehension of scientific information, and perceptual ability. And it’s a significant factor in getting accepted into a DMS or DDS program. You’ll take it at the end of your junior year or undergraduate school — be sure you studied hard in those science classes to be well prepared!

Once you’ve earned your bachelor’s degree and aced your DAT, you’re ready to move on to your next challenge: dental school. Here, you’ll spend four years immersing yourself in the world of dentistry.

Do lawyers make $400 an hour?

“`html

If you are a novice lawyer or an experienced one who has not taken on new cases for several years, then you will 100% have problems with estimating the cost of your services. With this gap in knowledge, you may be overestimating the cost of your services, thereby scaring away potential customers with your high prices and retainer fees. However, the other option is no better -because of the same lack of knowledge – you may be underestimating the hourly pay so much that crowds of customers will rush to you, you cannot serve everyone, and you’re undercharging for your hard work.

Lawyers need to know how to set their fees in order to stay afloat and make a profit. This can be hard to do, especially in market conditions. Determining the hourly rate for an attorney can be tricky, which is why we’ll explain how to justify your rate by looking at your goals. In addition, we will also look at various factors to consider when setting growth goals for your law firm.

What you’ll see in this article:

When starting a new law firm, it can be hard to understand how much to charge for your services. You can ask other experienced lawyers for advice, but their answers may not be relevant to you. The best way to determine your fees is to research the cost of similar services in your area.

Data-driven sources like the billable hour index from the Statista Report can help you position yourself more confidently. You can use data to charge your clients a premium rate that is in line with your extensive experience. For example, the average attorney hourly rate in the immigration field is $334 per hour. This information can help you make informed decisions about your pricing. However, there is still a question that all lawyers want to know the direct answer to: “What should my hourly rate be?”

Depending on their level of experience and the complexity of the case, attorneys charge between $100 and $400 per hour. Small-town attorneys or newly admitted attorneys bill between $100 and $200 per hour, whereas seasoned attorneys in big cities bill between $200 and $400 per hour.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates a generally optimistic job outlook for attorneys, with a 4% expected growth rate for lawyers between 2019 and 2029, which is in line with the projected average for all jobs.

In terms of hourly rates for lawyers by state, Statista’s 2022 statistics show that lawyers in the District of Columbia charge the highest hourly rate for an experienced attorney, followed by lawyers in Delaware at $351 an hour. On the opposite end of the scale, West Virginia has the lowest average attorney hourly rate in the US. The research also examines rates that have been cost of living-adjusted, which is important to look at when determining rates.

Is becoming a lawyer hard?

“`html

Attending law school is a transformative and character-building process for students seeking a law degree. But just how hard is law school, really? How does it compare to undergraduate studies? Dr. John Duncan, a favorite law school professor of mine, used to say there are three main hurdles in the process of becoming a lawyer:

Law school is generally considered to be a very challenging academic experience for a number of different reasons. First, the workload is heavy. Law school students are expected to read hundreds of pages of legal text each week, and they are often required to write long essays and research papers for their law school classes.

Second, the material you’ll need to learn to become a lawyer is complex and non-intuitive. The law is an ever-changing field, and many law school students are expected to master a wide range of legal concepts.

Third, the competition in law school is hard and fierce. Law school is a highly competitive environment for most people, and students are constantly vying for grades and job opportunities.

Grade curving, which is a common practice by law school professors, often means that only the best students succeed in law schools. The legal profession is a world that is built on stiff competition, and law school is no different.

Despite the challenges, the law school experience can be useful. Attending law school can help you develop critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and strong legal writing skills. Taking law school courses will also enable you to learn about the law and the legal system, which can be incredibly useful if you aspire to practice law for law firms someday.

Usually, the first step for a law student who wants to attend law school is to earn an undergraduate degree in a subject matter that provides a strong pre-law foundation. In the United States, most law schools do not require any specific undergraduate major or set of courses. Students are admitted to law school from almost every academic discipline.

However, there are some undergraduate majors that are considered to be more “pre-law”-friendly than others. These majors typically include courses that teach critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and writing skills. Some examples of popular pre-law majors include:

  • Political Science
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • English
  • Economics

Generally speaking, there is no one “right” major for pre-law. The most essential concept for a prospective student to grasp is to choose a major in which they are interested and that will help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in law school.

However, earning high grades in university classes at the undergraduate level is important, too. Good grades in your classes can help to improve the odds of your acceptance into a law school and potentially affect other factors, such as scholarship opportunities.

Once a law student nears completion of an undergraduate degree, the next step to prepare for law school will generally be to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).

If you plan to become a lawyer in California, you’ll be in good company. With over 170,300 lawyers, the Golden State is one of the country’s most popular places to practice the law. That’s because of the state’s diverse employment opportunities, including entertainment, real estate, and technology law—not to mention its high earning potential.

Becoming a lawyer in California takes dedication and drive. In this post, we’ll highlight the step-by-step process, including academic qualifications, bar exam preparation, and more.

First things first: A reminder of what exactly a lawyer does.

Lawyers help people and organizations navigate legal matters. This includes:

  • The exact nature of lawyers’ daily responsibilities ultimately depends on their specialization.

For more on specialization, read our guide on how to become a lawyer in a specialized area.

Tecnically, yes. California is one of only four states that lets lawyers forgo law school—but specific requirements must still be met. As one alternative path, students can work under the supervision of a California judge or an attorney in a law office for 18 hours a week for four years. Those that choose this route must also pass the First-Year Law Students’ Exam, Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam, and California Bar Exam.

Becoming a lawyer is a multi-step process, but it can lead to a rewarding career. Below, we’ve outlined the typical pathway to become a practicing lawyer in California.

Like all legal fields, the first step in your legal education journey is to obtain your bachelor’s degree.

While there aren’t any specific degree requirements, it’s a good rule of thumb to focus on areas that relate to law. With that in mind, popular majors include:

  • Political Science
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Business

Coursework in these areas equips students with essential knowledge and skills to have as future lawyers, including research and writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

As you reach the end of your degree and determine that law school is right for you, you’ll need to take and pass the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). This standardized test measures your reading comprehension, reasoning, and writing through two components: multiple-choice questions and a written essay.

For those who choose the traditional path, the next step to becoming a lawyer in California is to start a three-year Juris Doctor (JD) degree at one of the nearly 200 ABA-accredited law schools. While it’s not a requirement, studying in the state you intend to practice law in can be a good idea. That’s because it can open the door to invaluable connections and set you up for success as you start your career.

We’ve compiled a list of the top law schools in the country that can provide excellent education and networking opportunities. There are 21 ABA-accredited law schools in California. These include:

After completing one year of law school, you’re eligible to take a two-hour, multiple-choice test—the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)—administered through the National.

Completing law school in two years may seem impossible, but it is possible. Many law students have achieved this goal by taking full advantage of summer courses and accelerated, intensive programs. These programs allow students to cover more material at a faster pace. Students should also remember that two-year law degree programs are not for everyone – it requires an intense commitment to intensive study and long hours.

Questions Answered In This Article

  • Can law school be done in 2 years? Law school traditionally takes three years to complete. However, many programs allow law students to finish in just two years.
  • Is this compressed timeline right for everyone? Let’s examine the pros and cons of completing law school in two years.

Law school is an intensive program that requires law students to commit two years of their life to the comprehensive learning of legal theory and law practice. Throughout the law school system, law students can learn the fundamentals of law, law research, critical thinking skills, legislative comprehension, and legal procedures. Additionally, law students will be able to attend seminars and lectures focusing on topics such as criminal law, civil procedure, and constitutional law while obtaining hands-on experience by participating in moot court competitions and serving in law journals. Upon completing all the necessary law school classes and meeting additional requirements, a law student can officially receive their degree and graduate after two years.

Completing law school in two years offers law students a unique opportunity to jumpstart their law careers. Accelerated law programs can allow law students to earn their law degree faster while still receiving the same education and training level as those attending traditional law schools. While there are several advantages, such as reducing tuition costs and avoiding overlapping law courses, there could be drawbacks if a student needs to prepare to manage the workload. Law students should be aware of all potential pros and cons before embarking on a two-year law school program to decide how best to pursue their law degree.

If beginning law school is your goal, a two-year program could be the way to get there. Before deciding on this path, law students should look closely at the available options. Consider researching law schools that offer this accelerated program and finding out what kind of financial aid might be available for those who choose to attend. Furthermore, it’s important to plan and ensure that you have the resources necessary to help you succeed in completing law school on time and within budget. Ultimately, researching, preparing, and following through.

Meanwhile, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut takes longer to beat. This is because Director’s Cut comes with the Iki Island expansion, which provides a whole new region to explore, complete com sua própria história, quests e atividades.

Here’s a breakdown of how long the Iki Island expansion takes to beat:

  • Add the Iki Island expansion to the main Ghost of Tsushima campaign, and you have a complete package that lasts at least 25 hours.
  • On average, it’ll take most players around 40 to 50 hours to play through most of what the base game and the expansion have to offer.

Difficulty can also be a factor in how long it takes to beat Ghost of Tsushima. For more information on the game’s difficulty settings, be sure to check out the following guide: Ghost of Tsushima: What Difficulty Should You Select?

How many endings are there in The Ghost of Tsushima?

“`html

I’m about to finish my play through and considering an NG+ run.

I could have googled this, but I was afraid of accidentally spoiling something for myself.

Basically, if I’m going to NG+, I want to go for a different ending. If there are multiple endings, please don’t spoil what they are, but are they just reached by decision points or do they factor in your playstyle?

So far I’ve not limited myself at all, favoring stealth. But ever since Act I where your uncle urges you to turn from this path, I’ve wondered if it was possible to play honorably enough that he never even says that.

Is there a secret honor ranking that you lose points on every time you, say, use Ghost weapons or perform sneak attacks? If I refuse to use dishonorable tactics, will the game still force me to poison the Mongol camp and become disowned by my uncle or is there another route?

Again, please don’t spoil what happens if so. But if that’s the case, I’ll do an NG+ where I refrain from stealth, poison, and ghost weapons.

Thank you!

Is the Iki expansion worth it?

Ghosts of the past…I didn’t expect to step foot on Iki Island so soon after my trip to Tsushima. I very much enjoyed playing Ghost of Tsushima for over 40 hours, but I felt it was time for something different. So, I moved on to Bayonetta Origins and In Tanta We Trust. I figured I’d get back to Ghost of Tsushima’s expansion, Iki Island, in due time. The fall. Maybe. That was before the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows came out, stoking the fires of those ‘Ghost of Tsushima 2’ (know revealed as ‘Ghost of Yōtei’) will be revealed soon, trust me’ rumours. All of that got me back in the mood for more Samurai action. So, one Saturday night, I cracked open that PS4 copy of mine so much sooner than I thought I would. And here we are at my review of it. Yeah, it was that simple. Not every opening has a long anecdote.

So let’s talk about this surprisingly different piece of DLC and see how well it stacks up against the base game.

After halting the Mongol invasion of Tsushima, disgraced samurai Jin Sakai, now known as “The Ghost,” finds himself on Iki Island. A group of Mongols, led by “The Eagle,” is occupying the island, using some sort of mysterious hallucinogenic brew to drive the people of Iki insane—a brew Jin falls victim to. The Mongols are far from his only worries, however. Jin’s father Kazumasa led a campaign against Iki Island’s many raiders years ago, leaving deep scars on both Iki Island and Jin. The islanders hate the samurai, and Clan Sakai in particular, with a great passion, and Jin is still haunted by his father’s death.

Hallucination or not, hatred for his clan or not, Jin vows to drive off The Eagle and her forces and free Iki Island of their rule.

The story of Iki Island is fine. It’s not a bad or boring narrative; it’s engaging with some nice twists here and there, but it’s not up to the quality of the base game. It’s not as long as even one of the game’s main acts, coming in at around 5 hours, nor does it feel as integrated or emotional. It’s like this story was written by a B-Team. That’s not meant as an insult, mind you. It’s just the clearest way to explain the difference in quality.

Something that stands out here is Kazumasa Sakai, Jin’s deceased father. He who casts a long shadow over his son is now finally seen thanks to The Eagle’s hallucinations. Getting a more concrete view of the man who was brought up plenty before is enjoyable and satisfying. It’s like finding a missing puzzle piece in what made Jin the man he is today. Kazumasa dying on Iki Island instead of in the Yarikawa Rebellion, as presented in the base game, is a retcon that stands out like a sore thumb, but it is what it is. It’s what Jin needed: a reckoning long in the making and what needed to be done to include Kazumasa here. Jin recognizing that his father was neither a saint nor a devil and forgiving himself for the role he played in his death is good character development, even if it doesn’t feel as grand as intended.

The lack of a clear ending—no end cred.

A suitably epic tale

How long does it take to beat Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut? Since it’s an open world game, you can spend hours upon hours just exploring the island of Tsushima, and there’s no need to rush through the main story. As such, it’s hard to pinpoint just how lengthy the game is, but in this Ghost of Tsushima guide, we’re going to give you some estimates based on different levels of completion.

Again, Ghost of Tsushima is an open world adventure, and the map offers a lot of optional content. From side quests to hidden locations, there’s a lot to see and do outside of the main story missions if you want to take a break from Jin’s quest for revenge.

Abaixo, we’ve broken down como quanto tempo Ghost of Tsushima leva dependendo de quanto do jogo você está procurando completar.

Meanwhile, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut takes longer to beat. This is because Director’s Cut comes with the Iki Island expansion, which provides a whole new region to explore, complete with its own story, quests, and activities.

Aqui está um resumo de quanto tempo a expansão Iki Island leva para ser concluída:

Tipo de Jogo Duração Estimada
Ghost of Tsushima (base game) 25 horas (pelo menos)
Ghost of Tsushima (base game + Iki Island expansion) 40 a 50 horas (média)

Dificuldade também pode ser um fator em quanto tempo leva para completar Ghost of Tsushima. For more information on the game’s difficulty settings, be sure to check out the following guide: Ghost of Tsushima: What Difficulty Should You Select?

How to unlock Journey into the Past:

Tale Reward:

In order to unlock Iki Island, you must first complete the Tale “A New Horizon”, the final Tale of Act 1 which has you venture into the Toyotama region with Lord Shimura. You also of course need to have purchased the Iki Island expansion. If you’re playing the native PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, you’ll already have it as part of the game.

Iki Island will also have an early period where you cannot Fast Travel off it until you complete the first four Tales of Iki, so keep this in mind if you feel you’re not prepared for its more difficult enemies.

While Iki Island assumes that you’ve just finished playing Act 1, we’ll include some tips and hints to help refresh your memory on how to play the game if you’re jumping back into Ghost of Tsushima.

The start of this Tale begins on Drowned Man’s Shore, located on the West side of the Southern peninsula of the Toyotama Region. It’ll be West-North-West of Akashima Village.

From Akashima Village, head West until you get to the road that runs along the coast, then continue North. There’s no direct path to the Dead Man’s Shore village, so you’ll need to use the Guiding Wind by swiping up on the Touch Pad to help you get the rest of the way. If you find it difficult to track the Guiding Wind, you can make it more visible in the Accessibility menu.

Look for the tree trunks wrapped in purple-blue cloth: they’ll lead you past a large rock towards a mossy-roofed house. Here you’ll find some distressed villagers.

Talk to one of them using R2, and you’ll find that they’re delirious. You’ll need to investigate the area to find out who could have done this.

It’s always a good idea to scour settlements, camps and other buildings for Supplies and other resources, since you’ll use them to make upgrades just like in the main game. At the front of the house you can find some footprints to Examine. They lead down the path towards the shore. Jin identifies them as Mongol, and the Guiding Wind will point you in the direction of a mongol yurt close to the shore.

Follow the path towards the shore and it’ll lead you to a mongol yurt with a purple roof. While your main objective is behind and to the right of the yurt, you can investigate the clothing and restraining device inside the yurt to learn a bit more about the attackers.

Behind and to the right of the yurt will be a makeshift mongol altar that you can Examine. This will initiate a cutscene.

Here, the three base mongol fighters will appear: a Swordsman, a Shieldsman and a Pikeman. However they will be bolstered by a brand new type of enemy: the Shaman.

Shamans are a Spearman type whose chanting will bolster the aggression and defenses of other mongols fighting you, making them attack more often and take more strikes to kill. Because of this, it’s a very good idea to ignore all other combatants and head straight for the Shaman at the back of the battlefield and take them out, so.

How much content is Iki Island?

“`html

Ghost of Tsushima players can now visit Iki Island as part of the game’s Iki Island expansion. The expansion adds ten to twelve hours of content, with Jin journeying to Iki to investigate a mysterious tribe of Mongol invaders. However, Jin can visit Iki Island at any point after progressing through enough of the main story. It’s left up to players to decide when to make the journey.

Unlocking access to Iki Island involves completing Act 1’s main story. This allows Jin to claim some of the best early-game skill upgrades, fighting stances, and gear, including the grappling hook. However, even though the expansion can be started anytime after Act 2 begins, there are clear pros and cons to consider before jumping into the Iki Island content early.

Related: Ghost of Tsushima has arrived on PlayStation 5 thanks to the Director’s Cut, and players are able to transfer their PS4 save game to the new console.

The best time to start the Iki Island expansion is after completing the main game, and there are compelling story and gameplay reasons not to jump in immediately. Characters encountered in the expansion will speak to Jin as if the main game has been completed, and some sections refer to events that occur in Acts 2 and 3.

Apart from narrative dissonance, the game warns anyone hoping to jump into the new content the moment they unlock it that the challenges on Iki Island are some of the toughest yet.

The way Iki Island is introduced into the main game is fairly seamless, acting as a new location for players to jump back and forth from the mainland. At any point, players can leave Iki Island and return to Tsushima to level up and earn more abilities through the main story.

Some of Ghost of Tsushima’s hardest bosses reside on Iki Island, and even regular enemies are deadlier than their counterparts on Tsushima. Players should ideally have most of their abilities unlocked before visiting Iki Island, as the expansion further pushes these endgame abilities and presents an actual test of skill.

However, Iki Island also features new side activities and many of Ghost of Tsushima’s best armor sets. As such, even if it’s less ideal, players can jump in at any point, and it’s ultimately up to them.

How long does it really take to sober up?

If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, help is available. Speak with a Recovery Advocate by calling (614) 362-1686 now.

When using alcohol, it is very important to know how long the substance stays in your system. Alcohol can impair your judgment, affecting your ability to safely drive, use equipment and make important decisions. Driving while intoxicated can also carry heavy legal penalties. By knowing how long alcohol affects you, you can plan ahead and avoid potentially dangerous situations.

The time it takes for alcohol to have an effect depends on a variety of factors and will be different for everyone. However, alcohol can take effect in as soon as five to 10 minutes. The time it takes for alcohol to enter your bloodstream will depend on:

  • The effects of alcohol will normally peak within 30 to 90 minutes of using it.

The half-life of a substance is the time it takes for the body to break down one half of the substance in the bloodstream. The concept of a half-life only applies in certain situations, and it does not apply to alcohol. The chemistry of alcohol causes it to decrease at a constant rate until it is eliminated. Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) will normally decrease at a steady rate of 0.015/hour in most individuals.

The time it takes you to sober up from alcohol depends entirely on how much alcohol you have used. A standard drink will raise your BAC by about 0.02, although this will be different for each individual. A drink’s effects on BAC will peak after about 60 to 90 minutes. After your BAC peaks, you should allow about an hour and a half per drink before you should expect to become sober.

The length of time it takes to become sober will be different for each individual. It depends on many different factors, including your gender, weight, health and how much alcohol you typically use. You may begin to feel sober once your BAC drops below 0.02.

Because driving while intoxicated is both dangerous and illegal, people who use alcohol often wonder how long they should wait to drive after drinking. The answer to this question depends on several factors, but the primary factor is the number of drinks you have used. Because alcohol is metabolized at a constant rate, each drink adds to the time it will take before you are below the legal limit to drive.

The legal alcohol limit to drive can theoretically change at any time if new legislation is created. For quite some time, however, the limit in the U.S. has been a BAC of 0.08. This will normally take three to five drinks for most people to reach, but different people may have different responses affecting how quickly they reach the 0.08 limit.

Different BAC levels will have different physical effects, and these effects become more pronounced as the BAC is higher. This is why there is a legal limit to how high of a BAC you can drive with. While different levels of BAC cause different effects, these effects are not particularly predictable. You should never try to determine.

How long does the process of sobering up take?

“`html

“How long does it take to sober up after drinking?” is a question with no universal answer. The rate of elimination for alcohol differs from person to person, although an average adult liver processes one standard alcohol drink per hour. With alcoholism on the rise in the United States, many people are curious about how long it takes to sober up. The following statistics shed light on the prevalence of this growing concern:

This guide details the length of time it takes to sober up and shows you how to engage with treatment for alcohol abuse in any form. Get effective treatment for substance use and mental health disorders at our insurance-covered programs. Call now to get started.

Many variables impact the rate at which alcohol is processed. How quickly your body metabolizes alcohol will determine how long it takes for you to become intoxicated and how long it takes for you to sober up.

The average adult who consumes alcohol will feel the effects for roughly 12 hours. As BAC (blood alcohol concentration) levels rise, the person becomes drunk. When BAC levels fall, drunkenness transitions into a hangover.

The following factors influence how long alcohol lingers in your system:

  • BAC (blood alcohol concentration) is a universally accepted metric for measuring the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream.
  • According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the liver processes one standard drink per hour. A standard drink contains 6oz of pure alcohol. Common examples include:

BAC levels are not only determined by the amount of alcohol, though. As outlined, gender, weight, patterns of drinking and genetics can also impact how long it takes to sober up after drinking.

Adverse outcomes associated with high BAC levels include:

Our world-class addiction treatment program offers insurance coverage up to 100% for most PPO policies. Click below to get a quote.

Regardless of the factors that affect blood alcohol concentration levels and how long it takes someone to sober up, most adults will only be mildly impaired when BAC levels are below 0.08. For this reason, 0.08 is the legal limit for drinking and driving in most U.S. states.

That said, once BAC levels reach 0.08, you are considered to be intoxicated from a legal standpoint. Habitual drinkers may not feel the effects of alcohol at this level, but they will still be mildly alcohol-impaired in the same way as someone who complies with moderate drinking guidelines.

Here is what to expect as BAC levels rise:

Despite differing personal experiences of intoxication, there are some constants when blood alcohol concentration is too high. These include:

If you have been drinking habitually and long-term, you may be physically dependent on alcohol. Those dependent on alcohol will experience intensely uncomfortable alcohol withdrawal symptoms after the initial hangover phase passes.

How long does it take someone to sober up, then? The body metabolizes between half and one standard drink per hour, depending on the m.

What helps sober you up fast?

What is the fastest way to sober up? There isn’t one. Cold showers, black coffee, and other remedies people might try do not work. The only thing that helps to sober up is time, because your liver needs time to break down and eliminate the alcohol from your body.

(TURN TO PDF) Your BAC is Rising with Every Drink

JUST SLEEPING IT OFF WON’T SOBER YOU UP!

You’re being responsible:

  • You’ve been drinking with friends from work since 8 PM.
  • At 2 AM you decide it’s time to go home.

Your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is .16. That’s over the legal limit of .08 for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), and about three times the BAC limit for Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI). Your sober designated driver brings you home.

Your plan:

  • Get some sleep and wake up at 6 AM.
  • Leave for work by 7 AM.

Only, You’re Still Impaired!

You have slept for nearly 4 hours, but you are still intoxicated at 6 AM. Even by 7 AM when you plan to drive to work you are impaired – your concentration, judgment, coordination, and reaction time will be affected. You could be arrested, lose your license, or even worse you could fatally injure yourself or someone else!

ONLY TIME CAN MAKE YOU SOBER!

The facts:

  • Your BAC depends on many factors including how much you drink, your gender, weight, body fat, health, and your liver function.
  • Each standard drink adds on average .02 to your BAC.
  • Your body eliminates alcohol at the rate of about one standard drink per hour (.02).
  • The elimination rate of alcohol will vary depending on your gender, weight, body fat, health, and your liver function.

A Cold Shower Won’t Help!

Nothing sobers you up, nothing reduces your BAC except time! Sleep, coffee, a cold shower, fresh air or exercise will not affect how fast your liver breaks down alcohol and passes it out of your body.

How long does it take to beat assassin’s creed valhalla?

How Long does it take to Beat Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

How long is the main story in Valhalla?

“`html

Sign in to your CBR account

Even since the Assassin’s Creed franchise embraced the RPG layout for their games, the stories and the environments have benefited greatly. Since the first title, the series has nurtured the practice of exploration among its players. Maps have grown with each entry and offered twice as much to collect and explore. But thanks to what Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had to offer, the franchise had the biggest map yet, making completing the game a unique and rewarding experience.

With the amount of content available in the base game, the idea of finishing the story, let alone completing the entire game, is nothing short of daunting, but that hasn’t stopped players from attempting either. When factoring in all the parameters needed to get the full Valhalla experience, how long would it take for players to beat and complete Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla follows the Viking Eivor as they guide the Raven clan to England in hopes of finding a place to settle. However, as they begin to lay their foundation, it becomes clear that opposition is not too far behind, and conflict begins against the Ancient Ones and the country of England. For players looking to complete the main story experience at a leisurely pace, the game can be completed in just over 91 hours. However, speedrunners can finish the story in 44 and a half hours. On average, gamers can expect 59 hours and 39 minutes of playtime to finish the main story.

What makes Valhalla a trickier title to complete than previous ones is that the main story is actually completed in multiple parts. For example, players will have to complete numerous steps to get the full picture of the narrative. First, they must conquer as much of England as is available. Second, players will have to complete Eivor’s story, which ties into Layla’s present-day narrative. After that, they will have to kill all the assassination targets to reach “The Father” and complete the England narrative. Lastly, players will need to complete the storyline found in the Asgard section in order to finish the base story of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

While the tasks required to finish the story of Valhalla can be intimidating, nothing compares to the necessary requirements for completion. Not counting the DLC content, players will be looking at just over 199 hours of playtime to complete the game at a slower pace. It will take 108 hours and 34 minutes of playtime for speedrunners to complete the title.

On average, a gamer should expect 138 hours and 19 minutes of game time for a completionist run. This is mainly because of the factors required for full completion, which involves completing a sprawling skill web with over 100 options. In addition, various armor and settlement upgrades require materials that can be gained through river raids and looting. However, there’s also the need to level up Eivor and complete side missions, puzzles, mysteries and games of Orlog.

Is Valhalla the longest Assassin’s Creed game?

Is Valhalla bigger than Odyssey?

“`html

Assassin’s Creed maps have been getting larger ever since the franchise shifted toward open-world RPGs following the release of Origins. It’s been previously reported that Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey weighed in at a whopping 230 km², but Ubisoft’s own developers have confirmed that the most recent addition to the series, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, is even larger.

Players can and have estimated map sizes when developers don’t advertise the exact dimensions. One of the most common ways is by assuming the height of a player model and seeing how long it takes to walk from one end of the map to the other. A bit of simple algebra later, and you’ve got a map’s approximate dimensions. Read on to explore some of the gaming world’s largest creations.

Updated on July 11, 2022: Assassin’s Creed has gone through a drastic overhaul after the release of Syndicate. Ubisoft realized that the series needed to freshen up to be more accessible in modern times, and the success of The Witcher 3 prompted the studio to emulate what made CD Project Red’s game so successful while combining it with the familiar and beloved Assassin’s Creed gameplay. This resulted in the studio forming some truly massive maps for their games, with Valhalla boasting the biggest size of the lot. Here are some other games that are bigger than the latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Daggerfall’s world is a whopping 209,331 km², but there’s a catch here. The map was actually procedurally generated in several places, leading to vast stretches of empty and boring landscapes that are a chore to travel through.

Final Fantasy 15 needed a few more years in the oven to finally be complete, but the product that was released was pretty great in its own right. A big part of what sold Final Fantasy 15 was its vast and beautiful open world.

That being said, a lot of Final Fantasy 15’s landscapes don’t really feature a lot to do aside from hunting down monsters and finding campsites. This leads to a ton of wasted potential when it comes to the massive 1800 km² map.

Racing games that adopt an open-world format are bound to have massive worlds. This is imperative to ensure that players can explore to their heart’s content without feeling limited by the confines of this game world.

Burnout Paradise is one of the most beloved racing games of all time, with its vast open world contributing to this notion. Speeding around and wrecking cars in this massive sandbox is a blast every single time.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is one of the best games in a series that has absolutely taken off since its advent on the Switch. This prequel fleshes out the world and lore quite a bit, with a story that will ca

Why is AC Mirage so short?

“`html

The last few Assassin’s Creed titles have been gigantic games that can easily take over a hundred hours to fully complete, with huge maps crowded with POIs and tons of side quests to distract you from the main story. According to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the upcoming spin-off, is smaller and more “intimate” because fans grew tired of these giant RPGs. And the devs were more than happy to go in this direction with the latest game in the franchise.

While I’ll be the first to say that modern Assassin’s Creed games have been a lot of fun, I’ll also admit that recent entries in the series like Odyssey and Valhalla have become far too big and bloated. More recent Assassin’s Creed games, starting with Origins, have evolved the franchise from a series of smaller, stealth games set in large cities into a collection of massive open-world RPGs often filled with hundreds of quests, side quests, collectibles, and places to explore. And if you, like me, long for a smaller, more focused Assassin’s Creed, well, we aren’t alone.

In an interview with GamesRadar, Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s creative director Stéphane Boudon explained that while Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla were all “great games” that let players “live an epic journey” it was clear that those players were longing for something different and smaller.

“Amongst our fans, we started hearing the desire for a character-driven story, focused on the core pillars of the first ACs in a more intimate scale,” explained Boudon. “It resonates with us as well, as developers, and this was the starting point of the project.”

Boudon also said that while Mirage came about from a “convergence of several inputs” the biggest driver behind the upcoming spin-off’s smaller scale and focus on narrative came from what the community was asking for after years of huge RPGs.

Further, Mirage pays homage to the OG Assassin’s Creed game starring Altair. Mirage is set in a similar part of the world—the Middle East during the 13th century—and features actual assassins and not proto-assassins as seen in recent games.

I think all of this is a great direction to take the franchise. I want to keep playing these games, but after Valhalla, I’m not sure I need yet another 200-hour epic RPG. This could really help mix things up and keep the franchise feeling fresh and fun. I hope this is the start of a new trend where we see a mix of bigger, open-world entries (Valhalla, Origins) and smaller games focused on stealth. The franchise can support this mix and it would help avoid burning out fans who play every new game AKA me.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release sometime this year for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Updated: 07/31/2023, 10:55 a.m. ET: In an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze that PCGamesN then translated, Ubisoft lead producer Fabian Salomon said Assassin’s Creed.

Updated: 07/31/2023, 10:55 a.m. ET: In an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze that PCGamesN then translated, Ubisoft lead producer Fabian Salomon said Assassin’s Creed.

Is AC Mirage a long game?

Radio·REVIEW

Assassin’s Creed Mirage aims to bring the series back to its roots with a Middle East setting, a renewed focus on stealth and a shorter runtime compared to its arguably bloated predecessors.

How often does the latest entry in a popular entertainment franchise promise to give you less than the one that came before it? That’s the premise with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the latest in Ubisoft’s video game franchise that throws players into different historical periods.

After multiple entries that pushed the boundaries of just how open an open-world game can be, Mirage promises to bring the series back to its roots for its 15th anniversary.

Perhaps most important is its length and scope: the game takes place in 9th century Baghdad. The main storyline should take about 20 hours to complete; if you take more time to play optional missions and find hidden treasures, that could stretch it into a 30-hour adventure.

It’s a dramatic shift from the last three games in the series — Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla — that boasted entire countries to explore and enough content to last up to 140 hours each.

The shift resurrected questions about just how long blockbuster-budget video games should be, whether creating a game with so much content can burn out even from a series’ most dedicated fans.

Mirage whisks you through the early origins of its main character Basim, who begins as a street thief in a small town near the outskirts of Baghdad. Generous time skips and training montages see him recruited into the secret society known as the Hidden Ones, under the mentorship of veteran assassin Roshan (Shohreh Aghdashloo, who sci-fi fans might recognize from the TV adaptation of The Expanse).

You’re soon let loose to roam Baghdad proper like a pre-industrial Batman, conducting investigations to uncover the Order’s myriad plots. Unlike most Batmen, you’re then assigned to assassinate the Order’s highest-ranking leaders in gruesome fashion.

Reviews for recent Creed games have remained generally positive, but many critics noted that their consistent growth led to a sense of bloat and fatigue.

“It did get a little out of control for me. Like, I liked Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla; I don’t know if I ever made it to 50 per cent [completion] in any of those,” said Mike Minotti, managing editor of gaming news site Gamesbeat. “So I was kind of yearning for going back to something a bit more city-based instead of country-based once again. So Mirage is kind of doing that for me.”

The smaller scope might prevent Mirage from fading into the background this year, as well. A handful of flagship releases — Starfield, Baldur’s Gate 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — can take 100 or more hours to play before you see everything it has to offer.

Video game length has long been a topic of heated debate. With brand-new games retailing for as much as $80 in Canada, some corners of the gaming community have long argued that at such a high…

How long is Assassin’s Creed Mirage main story?

“`html

Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be shorter than recent entries in Ubisoft’s totemic series of action games, but still: It’s an Assassin’s Creed game. Given the series’ reputation here, it’s more than natural to wonder how long it takes to beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Our Assassin’s Creed Mirage game length guide will tell you how long it takes to beat the main campaign. We also take note of the additional time you’d spend if you gather the many (many) collectibles. Lastly, we run down all the main story missions that you’ll play through.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, compared to some of the more recent entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, presents a shorter campaign with a somewhat linear progression. It’s still an open-world game, though most of your adventures are confined to the city of Baghdad in the 9th century. As such, those who want to focus on just the main missions can expect roughly 15 to 20 hours, depending on how you tackle objectives.

Certain quests might have additional tasks as you investigate the occurrences in the city, which require you to put in the extra effort. Moreover, due to the focus on stealth gameplay, sneaking around without getting detected is certainly tougher. But it’s also possible to go in hot, battling numerous foes on the way to the objective.

Of course, since this is an Assassin’s Creed game, Mirage still has numerous collectibles scattered all over the map, which you might want to obtain. These include the following:

  • Collectibles 1
  • Collectibles 2
  • Collectibles 3

You can expect to spend anywhere from an additional 10 to 20 hours to track down all of these collectibles. This brings a completionist run up to 25 to 40 hours in total, depending on how much time you spend hunting (ou dabbling with the legitimately quite excellent photo mode). Thankfully, there’s a Cartographer NPC you’ll encounter later in the campaign: He sells maps that reveal the locations of some of these collectibles.

As cited earlier, Assassin’s Creed Mirage tends to be fairly linear. The campaign is structured in a way that you’ll need to complete multiple tasks as part of a narrative arc, which leads to Basim’s further development.

The goal is to undertake investigations in Baghdad’s districts, which then allow you to assassinate a particular high-value target. There’s also a section with objectives that can be completed in any order, though all of these are required to reach the next chapter.

Below, we list the main missions that we finished as we progressed through the game. We’ve organized them by Mirage’s eight arcs, some of which only contain one mission. Bear in mind that, while this section doesn’t explicitly contain any spoilers, the titles here might reveal information about the narrative.

That’s everything you need to know about how long it takes to beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Since you’re keen on learning about the campaign length and mission list, you might want to know what we think of the serie.

Which Assassin’s Creed is longest?

“`html

The end to the Ezio trilogy is the shortest when it comes to beating the story, clocking in at around 12.5 hours. The setting is Constantinople, where Ezio arrives to find Altair’s memory and access the vault that contains an Apple of Eden. The far more simplistic main story, and the smaller size of the city, is what reduces the runtime compared to previous installments. However, completionists can take as much as 35 hours if they want to achieve everything possible. This includes finishing Desmond’s present-day puzzle sequences, crafting the many types of bombs that Ezio has in his possession, removing all Templar presence from Constantinople.

The first game in the series to make one location its primary setting, “Brotherhood” involves Ezio’s stay in Rome, where he looks to remove Cesare Borgia’s influence. It features a wide range of characters who form part of Ezio’s list of allies, with the goal to create an assassin stronghold in the city by recruiting new members. The conspiracy behind the power struggle for Rome and Ezio’s struggles to be a leader sets the main campaign at around 15 hours. Completionists can spend a much longer time playing, though, as elements like carrying out assassination contracts and playing Ezio’s repressed memory sequences bolster the runtime to as much as 41 hours. Taking novice assassins and turning them into masters in their own right takes quite a while, and dedicated players need to put in the time to see it through.

Set during the American Revolution, this game’s story takes place across 30 years and the father-son pair of Haytham and Connor Kenway are playable. Still, even with the sprawling setting, the main plot generally skips through the finer details and can be finished in around 16 hours. It’s the open-world aspect of things that greatly balloon up “Assassin’s Creed III’s” runtime, as the open frontier is filled with extra content. It’s the first time players get to experience naval gameplay, with certain sequences dedicated to guiding Connor across enemy territory. Hunting and expanding Connor’s homestead is the primary way to finish off all of Connor’s side quests. Ultimately, it takes about 56 hours for completionists to fully explore the open-world and round out Connor’s adventures from start to finish.

Widely regarded as the weakest entry in terms of quality, “Unity” nevertheless has a lot of material for players to immerse themselves in. Set in Paris during the French Revolution, its plot is about Arno Dorian uncovering the conspiracy behind the death of the Templars’ grand master that leads into another conflict with the assassins. The main campaign lasts around 17 hours and its runtime is bolstered because missions require players to extensively infiltrate large areas to finish off the targets. Of course, it’s the addition content that truly makes this a big game, as “Unity’s” co-op feature lasts a long time. With up to four players possible to team up, the missions are narratively-driven and.

How long is the Hogwarts Legacy story?

“`html

As with many of the other great open-world games from the past few years, Hogwarts Legacy is packed full to the brim with content. For starters, just like the Harry Potter books and movies that inspired it, the game features a fantastic main story, though this is only a small part of what’s on offer for players. In addition to main story quests, players can also tackle a wide range of side quests and special assignments, all of which help to pad out the total length of an average playthrough. Those looking for a title that they can sink a lot of hours into are therefore in luck, as Hogwarts Legacy is far from a short game.

Updated May 5, 2023: After a wait of almost three months, Hogwarts Legacy has finally arrived on last-gen consoles, allowing Xbox One and PS4 owners to enjoy this enchanting RPG. Though the visuals may not be quite as impressive, the main story is just as enjoyable, but some players may be wondering how long it takes to beat.

It will take most players around 25 hours to complete the main story of Hogwarts Legacy, though this may vary a little depending on which difficulty setting players choose and how much of the game’s side content they engage with as they tackle the main story quests. Completing everything in Hogwarts Legacy will take around 65 hours, though again, there may be a little variance here and there.

There are 13 main story quests in Hogwarts Legacy, with each one broken up into a series of smaller subquests and tasks. Some can be completed relatively quickly, while others will take players quite a bit longer. What’s more, some of these quests will task players with completing special assignments for their professors, many of which involve completing side quests. This means that players will need to complete several of Hogwarts Legacy’s side quests as part of the main story.

Hogwarts Legacy does not have a New Game+ mode, though there are a few things that players can do after finishing the main story. As well as being able to mop up any remaining side quests, they’ll also gain access to a few new main story missions, one of which requires them to find every page of the Wizard’s Field Guide. There’s another one in which the winners of the house cup will be decided, though players will only be able to unlock this once they’ve reached Level 34.

Players are also free to replay the game as a student from one of the other three houses, which will grant access to a few different house-specific quests. Doing so will be essential for those hoping to fully complete Hogwarts Legacy, as there is a Trophy/Achievement tied to each of the school’s four houses. Thankfully, though, players won’t need to complete the game four times to unlock the Platinum Trophy, as these house-specific Trophies are unlocked fairly early on in the main story.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. A Switch version is currently in development.

Can you get a girlfriend in Hogwarts Legacy?

“`html

I’m wondering if I’m able to get my flirt on with someone from Hogwarts. Is it possible to have a romantic relationship with anyone in Hogwarts Legacy?

asked Jul 20, 2023 at 18:34

No. While you can form platonic relationships and deepen friendships with schoolmates in Hogwarts Legacy, you cannot indulge in any romance. This was a conscious decision not to include romance options in Hogwarts Legacy from Avalanche Software (the game’s developers). The developers stated it in an interview with GamePro. So it’s unlikely we’ll ever see this coming to the game in a future update.

Does Hogwarts Legacy have multiple endings?

“`html

Endings Guide for Hogwarts Legacy features guided information about the game’s conclusion. This page covers all the possible Endings to Hogwarts Legacy that players can attain by completing the Main Story, as well as other necessary objectives, impactful choices to make, items and equipment to collect in order to achieve a certain outcome. Also included is information on whether or not certain choices players make throughout the playthrough will affect the Ending they get, or other effects and the weight of such choices.

Following in the traditions of many story-driven, open-world titles, Hogwarts Legacy has multiple endings. There are a total of 3 possible Endings in Hogwarts Legacy that players can achieve. These have been colloquially dubbed the Good Ending, the Evil / Bad Ending, and the True Ending. Of these three, only the Good and Evil endings are affected by your choices and/or actions, while the True Ending is achievable regardless.

As noted above, only the Good and Evil endings constitute different outcomes for the conclusion of Hogwarts Legacy. Thankfully, both endings are very easy to achieve as they hinge on a single choice you have to make near the end of the game’s penultimate quest “The Final Repository”, right before the final boss fight. See the All Endings section below for details on this choice and how to achieve both endings.

Players will be able to achieve either the Good and True ending or the Evil and True ending. Depending on what choices the player makes in dialogues as well as during the end game, it will determine whether players get the Good ending or the Evil ending. After the ending cinematic has passed, players will find themselves back at Hogwarts Castle.

The Post-Game begins after completing “The Final Repository”. Players are free to explore the world and finish up any remaining Side Quests, Challenges and complete their Collections. This is in fact a pre-requisite for attaining the True Ending. Additionally, all the Battle Arenas can be challenged as many times as possible for players who enjoy honing their combat abilities.

It is possible to achieve all three Endings in a single playthrough. This can be done by creating a separate save file during The Final Repository when you receive the “Defeat Ranrok’s Loyalists” objective. This is the point prior to when you have to make the choice that will decide whether you get the Good Ending or the Evil Ending. The True Ending is attainable in the Post-Game and is available after either outcome is achieved.

In the context of the overall story, playing a Good or Evil Character throughout Hogwarts Legacy has very little impact. The game features a very simple morality system that mostly hinges on dialogue options which tend to be very black and white. Aside from the choice between the Good and Evil Endings, there are no penalties for performing actions that can be considered “evil” or “bad” nor are there any particular incentives to be the token “good” student.

Is it worth it to finish Hogwarts Legacy?

“`html

It took me around one hundred and fifteen hours to finish the game. When I considered myself done, I had technically completed just over 90% of the challenges. My rank was 37. I had finished all the main and side quests. My clothing was comprised of legendary and fully upgraded items. My broom was fully upgraded, and my room of requirement was fully populated with every type of plant, potion, station, and animal.

At my character’s level 37, I could two-shot most Trolls if the first hit was Petrificus Totalus. I fully upgraded the binding spell along with the stealth Disillusionment charm as fast as the game would allow. The sneak attack that is possible when the two spells are used in conjunction was invaluable throughout the entire game. I used the combo for clearing bandit camps, spider’s nests, and troll lairs galore. The strategy works best once you are able to run while under Disillusionment.

Overall Hogwarts Legacy was a fantastic adventure game. If you are a Harry Potter fan in general, then roaming the castle in all its 4K glory on a high-end PC or console is an epic experience all on its own. Even if you don’t play the rest of the game, it is worth the cost to be able to dig into every nook and cranny of the famous castle and its grounds.

Taken as a whole, the game’s main story was interesting and easy to follow. The plot twists weren’t unexpected, but at least they made sense in the story’s context. The characters were fairly well developed.

There were lots of enemy form factors to master, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I was surprised by the number of mini games like:

  • broom racing
  • bowling with a magical twist
  • puzzles (Merlin Trials)
  • shape matching
  • some simple math problems

The list goes on and on. The game is also a collector’s paradise, clothing, wands, brooms, animals and plants, potions, money, upgrades, and more are found all over the place. The story lines in most of the side-quests aligned with the main branch in the end. There weren’t any major plot holes or open-ended story lines left dangling once I’d finished all the quests.

If you are considering playing the game all the way though, you should be aware that the difficulty increases significantly once you travel to the southern portion of the map. The scenery was beautiful. The mountains, streams, towns, buildings and various environments were all well-crafted, kept in decent scale to each other, and the color palette was realistic.

The NPCs had varying snippets and there were enough of them to make the world feel populated. The shops and shopkeepers were interesting. The currency system was easy to understand, and it didn’t take much effort to earn enough to be successful.

A tip for those just getting started, capturing and selling animals to Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade is one of the fastest ways I found to amass a fortune.

The broom racing was fun, easy to do as a form of transportation, but difficult to master for racing. The combat was well designed.

Is Spider-Woman Mary Jane?

“`html

Mary Jane Watson-Parker, also known by her secret alter-ego, Spider-Woman, is a crime-fighting vigilante in New York, known to be the matriarch of the Parker-Watson hero family in the future, as well as being the wife of Peter Parker and the mother of Anna-May Watson-Parker and Ben Parker-Watson.

She is an entrepreneur and the owner of her own moderately successful exclusive-fashionwear business and was formerly an investigative journalist and current-affairs editor for The Daily Globe, which after being destroyed, had become a subsidiary of The Daily Bugle. After being wedded to Peter Parker, she had only briefly maintained her career as a chief current affairs editor for the Bugle but knowing she couldn’t fully devote to her demanding job and also make do with her husband’s strenuous career as a superhero, she made a sacrifice for their family and quit the journalism/news industry to focus on her childhood dream of being an owner of her own company as well as a fashion designer, combining her two dreams and creating the Watson Collection.

MJ was a very social and active child, making friends easily, as her parents moved from one place to another, due to her father’s job. However, her father had soon become abusive and cold towards his own children, and thus, she ran away from home and started living in her with her aunt, Anna, moving in the same neighborhood as Peter Parker. Her aunt and Peter’s aunt had become very good friends and tried to set Peter and MJ up multiple times.

Being an attractive, straightforward, independent girl from a young age, all the boys had a crush on her, and one in particular, who was envious of MJ and in disdain after she rejected him, had spread a malicious rumor about her around school, after which students harassed and ostracized her. Although she was deemed an outcast in early school years, she bottled up all her pain and never let it take over her, preferring to put on a strong image and standing up for herself. After the rumors started rolling in about her, she found all boys to be headaches and distanced herself from any thought of possibly dating any boy, despite her being found attractive by many people.

Later onwards, in high school, Mary Jane soon quickly found herself to be popular again, gaining respect for her acting chops in their school’s theatre productions and for her charismatic, admirable personality, becoming friends with Flash Thompson and his clique, who she would sometimes be in conflict with, due to their tendencies of bullying unpopular students. Around this time, she was introduced to Peter Parker, and soon inadvertently discovered about Peter Parker’s identity as the vigilante Spider-Man when she saw him wall-crawling up to his room’s window. She soon fell for Peter even though he was struggling with his feelings for Gwen Stacy, and decided to respect his feelings and never confessed to him and instead became his best friend. The only time she went out with another guy, after deciding to.

  • A man that we understand is drunk stands up and touches his nipples through his shirt; he says, “We should skinny-dip.”

A road packed with stopped traffic begins to break apart causing cars to tip into open holes and sparks to fly; we see giant mechanical tentacles poking through the surface and a man attached to them rises off the ground and uses the tentacles to throw cars around and one over the side of the bridge until a young man swings over the side and takes the occupant out of the car safely before the vehicle falls. A young man is struck hard by a mechanical tentacle and thrown through the windshield of a car and the man attached to the tentacles says, “I should have killed your little girlfriend,” causing the young man to become enraged and they fight: the young man’s suit sprouts mechanical spider legs and he jumps around dodging the man’s tentacles.

How many endings does Baldur’s Gate 3 have?

“`html

When it was revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 has 17,000 ending variations, many fans were shocked and excited to uncover them all. Of course, most suspected that these endings would differ very slightly because otherwise the six years Larian spent on the game would turn into an eternity.

The game’s lead writer Adam Smith clarified what this number actually means and how many real endings there are. He said that this perception of multiple choices comes from a misconception of a branching narrative.

“It’s not that you start at point A, and then you keep branching and branching and branching,” he tells me, his hands tracing an arboreal outline in the air between us. “That’s often how people think of it, but the problem with that would be that if I make a choice, then I branch over here, and suddenly I’m over here and I can’t get back [to the trunk].”

He compared Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrative to a “big spiderweb” where the end of the game is the center and the start is the outer edge. “So you’re always heading towards the same point, and what happens when you get there is very different. But it interweaves, so you’re kind of dancing between plots.”

Smith added that getting the player back on track can be really hard. The world is living and your actions affect it too, so if an important character gets killed and they’re not available anymore, it becomes a problem, but there is always another way.

“The game reacts, the game can let that happen. You can always pull yourself out of it and get back to the plotline. There’s very few points in the game where you can be like ‘I don’t know what to do next. We try to make sure you always have direction. Even if everything goes to hell, or you decide to just kill everyone, you can pick up the thread and say ‘I’m gonna do this next’.

So as you might have guessed, there aren’t 17,000 distinct endings, these are just all the different paths you can take during your playthroughs. In fact, the real number of endings is much more humble – in the very low double digits, according to GamesRadar. Still, it’s more impressive than many games can offer, and your journey to the end is what you should focus on anyway.

“We’re not going to say this is a world that changes with every choice you make. What we are going to say – and it’s true – is that the characters react to every choice you make. Everything you click will cause something to happen. Sometimes it’s small, sometimes it’s subtle, but it all means something from the very first clicks.”

“`

Is Baldur’s Gate 3 a time sink?

“`html

Baldur’s Gate 3 was the runaway GOTY winner in 2023, and halfway through 2024, it is still putting up 80,000 concurrent players a night, sometimes peaking at over 100K.

As such, you may expect the game’s average playtime to be high. But this high? Larian has just announced (referencing Steam numbers) that average playtime for Baldur’s Gate 3 is 100 hours. For the genre, for a single-player game, that’s absolutely wild, and I’m having trouble finding anything to compare it to.

Yes, I know there’s co-op in the game, which technically makes it more than just single-player, but the vast majority of players are playing solo, and there are so few games that are even 100 hours long to start with, much less ones that have an average playtime of 100 hours. A few references:

So, to rocket all the way to 100 hours for Baldur’s Gate 3 is really like nothing we’ve seen. Something like GTA 5 doesn’t count given that we know those high averages are from GTA Online. Most other games simply do not even have the content to make it to 100 hours at all.

Now, I know what people will say, that 100 hours may even be short for Baldur’s Gate 3, and you can easily sink double or triple that into the game. I’ve seen playtimes up to 1,000 hours thanks to multiple playthroughs given the infinite amount of different decisions you can make in the game and alternate and creative ways to approach quests and fights. But you have to realize that this number includes those who didn’t finish or may have purchased and bounced right off. Again, we’re talking about some of the most famous single-player games of all time when it comes to the likes of Skyrim and Elden Ring, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is out here blowing them all away.

I admittedly brought down the average. I only (“only”) made it about 50 hours in when I decided the turn-based combat was simply not going to be for me over the longer run, however much I loved the characters and story. Though I do absolutely understand how if you can embrace its gameplay, that this is a game to sink 100, 300 or 500 hours into given all it has to offer.

Is Baldur’s Gate 3 hard?

“`html

Baldur’s Gate 3

More or less every game I play, I start on normal difficulty. For review purposes, it feels like the experience most players will get. If something is comically easy I’ll crank it up, but yeah, normal it is.

Here comes Baldur’s Gate 3.

While I am confident in my ability to play action games or FPS titles on normal or hard, that absolutely does not apply to a turn-based RPG like Baldur’s Gate 3. Even though I will avoid every “just the story, please” difficulty in all other games, a handful of fights into Baldur’s Gate and I realized I was not going to progress in this game at all unless I made a change.

I started playing on easy. And if you are in this situation, I recommend playing on easy too. This is not Dark Souls or Elden Ring. No one is “demanding” an easy mode which isn’t in the game at all, running counter to its intended design. Baldur’s Gate 3 has an easy mode for this reason, for people who care more about seducing horned women and bear men than carefully strategized combat encounters.

I am not kidding when I say I am woefully terribly at Baldur’s Gate combat. Given the format here, this isn’t a “reaction time” thing like most games, it is simply a terrible comprehension of strategy and the rule set here. I have never played Dungeons and Dragons, so that’s a disadvantage. Turn-based games I have played are like, Pokemon and Final Fantasy, nothing like this. This is much close to XCOM, except way more complicated (and I was also bad at that game).

MORE FROM FORBES ADVISOR

I know there is a legion of “gamers” out there who say playing an ultra-hardcore game like Baldur’s Gate 3 on easy is something to be ashamed of. Doubly so if you’re a games journalist or content creator. Well guess what, I can’t be good at every type of game genre ever, and neither can most players.

But with Baldur’s Gate 3, the overall game is so good that you need to work your way through the combat to experience the excellent story and characters. And as you do so, you will likely continue to learn more and more about combat to become better at it over time.

And it’s not even that easy! I am currently like three levels down in the Underdark, stuck in a situation where a boss and his entire pirate camp are about to roast me, and I cannot beat the encounter to save my life. I’m probably just going to run away. So even now, I can’t just brute force my way through everything without getting better at the game. Easy mode is not a failsafe easy button for combat. Not in many situations.

Again, I cannot recommend doing this enough. I know many people that may consider just setting down the game entirely rather than surrendering and putting it on easy. That is stupid. And don’t let past achievements in other game genres tell you that it’s “bad” to go down a couple notches here. You will be missing out on greatness, otherwise.

RadioParker106: Just finished act one and I’m wondering if that’s actually about 1/3 of the way in terms of playtime.

-Till all are one

GirTheRobot: Act 2 was definitely a bit shorter and more streamlined. Act 3 can be as long as act 1 depending how much side stuff you do because there is a LOT. I put about 20 hours into act 3 and I bet I could have easily done another 5-10.

RadioParker106 (Topic Creator): Oh wow! Act one took me 50 hours, including the underdark, monastery etc. So it sounds like the end of act one is more like halfway in terms of time.

-Till all are one

GirTheRobot: well act 1 did not take me 50 hours. i think it took me about 25-30 and i missed a bit of content, but definitely did the big chunks. the hag, the monastery, the underdark, the goblin camp…

Wynvkius: That’s crazy bro I put almost 60 hours in act 1 in my solo game and about 40 hours in my multiplayer game.

Muhspaceaids: Act 1 and Act 3 are really long if you do everything. Id say Act 3 takes a lot longer too although everything is more congested since its mostly a big city whereas in Act 1 your running all over creation. Act 2 is INSANELY shorter by comparison. It’s on a blink and you miss it level of comparison. There just isnt a lot to do.

Arathion: Act 1 took me about 45 hours or so, but I did a ton of exploring. Act 2 is significantly shorter, and Act 3 length is about the same as Act 1, if you decide to do all the side quests and such.

GirTheRobot: 60 hours for act 1 is overkill tbh. i beat the game at about 65 hours. i honestly don’t even know how it’s possible to spend that much time in act 1 unless you’re meticulously checking every single nook and cranny and talking to every NPC. like i said i missed some side stuff, but i took care of all the big things in about 25-30 hours.

RadioParker106 (Topic Creator): I am. In addition to reading every book. You miss A LOT of stuff if you don’t talk to every NPC. It’s not like other games where you only get sidequests from people with a big glowing exclamation point over their head. Most of them start by talking to some random person (or animal).

-Till all are one

GirTheRobot: You rushed bro, and are probably playing on the easier difficulty because there is simply no way you beat th.

General Discussion – [SPOILERS]

I’ve seen some posts, news, and people saying they spent 40, 50 (and some even exaggerated and spent 80 hours on act 1). I’ve already played 3 times, and now I am in my 4th playthrough, and I’ve spent around 25 hours in Act 1, leaving at level 6, almost level 7. Am I missing something? I have the impression I did everything available, every quest, but still, it seems I spend a considerable smaller amount of time in Act 1 than most of the players.

What is the shortest act in Baldur’s Gate 3?

“`html

After years of being in early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally out in its entirety. Which means there are a whole lot of hijinks players can get up to in Larian Studios’ massive RPG set in one of Dungeons & Dragons’ most iconic settings. As a D&D adventure, a Larian game, and an RPG players should expect to spend a lot of time in the Forgotten Realms, still it might come as a shock just how long the game truly is. Here’s exactly how long it takes to beat the enormous experience that is Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian Studios managed to pack what seems to be an endless amount of content into Baldur’s Gate 3. Head of Larian, Swen Vincke told IGN at the end of June that the average playthrough of the main story will take “between 75 and 100 hours”. That does not account for the numerous side activities you can get up to.

This lengthy playtime makes sense as Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 typically take over 50 hours to beat. In comparison, Larian’s previous games such as Divinity: Original Sin 2 have a comparable runtime that quickly reaches 100 hours.

However, according to Howlongtobeat.com, some players have managed to complete the main story of Baldur’s Gate 3 in as little as 25 hours. Though it is safe to assume that this approach only sees the critical path with little exploration or side content. For the majority of players, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be a long adventure filled with exploring the map in search of secrets and pursuing side quests that build out the game’s incredibly dense world full of fascinating characters to spend time with. Don’t be shocked when you roll credits and find that not only have you reached 100 hours players, but you are closer to 200 when all is said and done.

Exploring everything Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer will rack up a large playtime.

The herculean effort of beating Baldur’s Gate 3 is made slightly more manageable by breaking up the game into different acts. Baldur’s Gate 3 has three acts in total. This is less than the meaty five acts of Larian’s own Divinity: Original Sin 2 but helps the game follow a more traditional story structure of opening, middle, and finale. If you are worried that three acts means less content to explore you need not have any such fear. The lengthy playtime is not split evenly between the game’s three acts.

The tens of hours that it will take you to beat Baldur’s Gate 3 are not split evenly amongst the game’s three acts, however. The opening act of Baldur’s Gate 3 will likely take you close to 25 hours to complete at a normal pace. Act 2 will make up the bulk of the game’s time, as the middle act holds the majority of the story development that needs to be done in the lead-up to a climactic finale. This means that completing Act 2 is likely to take 50 hours on its own, so be sure to take plenty of breaks during this long stretch. Once you make it through Act 2 the finale is within sight in a brisk 20 hours, making Act 3 the shortest act in Baldur’s Gate 3 as the action races towards its conclusion.
